Bulletbore-ing

Have you ever played a game that was boring, flawed and repetitive? Oh, you played Bulletstorm too?

I have no problem with vulgarity and can appreciate it most of the time but all the comedy just fell flat. I don't know how anyone could read the script and say, "Yeah this is good and hilarious. Let's pay him and spend 3 years in development making this childish game." It all sounded like some troll from your favourite forums wrote the script instead of a professional worthy of taking a spot from a hard working writer still looking for their break.

There were points in the game that it asked you to take cover but there is no option to do so. You have to crouch by holding the thumbstick down which seemed counter intuitive to have to hold it down instead of clicking it once. Most of the game play is whip someone to you, either shoot or kick them away and repeat. Over and over and over again.

The character you play as is not nearly as interesting as the NPC you run around with. He is unpredictable and wants nothing other than for you to die a slow and painful death for your mistakes and flaws as a character. When the NPC is more satisfying than the character you play as, its time to go back to the drawing board.

The environments were nothing unique. The enemies you fight usually blend into the surrounding area so its difficult at times to find who is shooting at you. Also when someone hits you and you try to hit them back they disappear into the left or right blindspot of the camera. If this had been intentional (proper AI) then great, but it seems more like a design flaw than anything else.

The kill skill thing or whatever it is called is so laborious to check and get to it's almost better just to ignore it and finish this repetitive game. The single player was so boring that I did not even try the multiplayer option because if it is more of the same, I don't want it.

All the fun and charisma of this game can be had through the demo. I wouldn't even rent the game cause that cost money. And if I play one more game where some "bad ass" assassin or soldier can't do something as simple as JUMP I will never buy another game from that studio again. Keep playing Halo: Reach or COD cause you are not missing anything by passing this game by.
