Who knew going back to school would be fun?

User Rating: 8.5 | Bully PS2
Rockstar has released Bully, a third-person action game. It's fun, has a good story, stuff that Rockstar has perfected.
You are 15 year-old Jimmy Hopkins. Your mom and step-dad are going on a honeymoon, and they drop you off at Bullworth Academy. Jimmy's been expelled from other schools, but will he get expelled here? That's not the main story, of wether he gets expelled or not.
So, you enter Bullworth, and get attack by the Bullies. You beat them up, and meet Gary, a kid who wants to take over the school (and also has some problems), and he shows you around the school, how to hide in lockers, and the cliques of Bullworth: Jocks (the guys who love football), the Preppies (the rich kids), the Bullies (beat people up) , the Greasers (the guys with the leather jackets and Brooklyn-style accents), and the Nerds (the guys who have pocket-protecters, have their zipper down, always play D&D). Soon later everyone starts to hate you, Gary escapes, and you have to find him while trying to be friends with the cliques of school. You'll also meet another group, the Townsfolk, which you'll find out in the later chapters of the game.
It's very engaging, actually. Overall, pretty good story featuring revenge, love, and beating nerds up.
Each chapter focuses on the groups of school. One chapter you'll be working with Greasers, while in the next you'll help Nerds. Once you complete chapter 1, you can go out of the gates of Bullworth, and explore the city. There is a clock on the top right-corner, stating what time it is, and there also is a curefu, where you must be in your dorm by then. Hitting kids will raise your trouble meter, and prefects will run after you. You can hide in garbage cans, lockers, or just run like hell to get away from them. If they grab a hold of you, you can mash the Triangle button to get away. Hitting a prefect (or a girl or a small child) will raise your trouble meter to the max, and all the prefects will be after you. Hitting one of the townsfolk (except for the kids you'll see at the later chapters) will raise your trouble meter again, and cops and townsfolk will come after you. If you escape school while the prefects are chasing you (at the trouble meter full) cops will come after you, so you better get away quick!
This game is not GTA. You can't kill, hijack, stuff like that. No blood too. You can shoot with a slingshot and something else for projectile attacks, and punch and throw for up-close combat. You can complete odd-jobs (mowing lawns, paper routes, or special missions) or bonuses too. You can collect G&G cards that are hidden around the town. Oh, by the way, if you keep getting caught by prefects at school, you'll have to serve detention, where the punishment varies on the season. You can also pass out if you stay up to long (2 or 3 a.m.).
The graphics are good, some good voice acting, and it's FUNNY. You'll get some good laughs.
Overall, buy it now.
