Burnout 2 is a fun racing game with many entertaining gameplay modes.

User Rating: 8.2 | Burnout 2: Point of Impact XBOX
When I first got Burnout 2: Point of Impact, I mostly wanted it for its crash mode. I had remembered seeing it on X-Play, and I thought it looked pretty fun to try to crash to win points. So I got the game, and it was one of my first Xbox games besides Halo.

The graphics in this game were amazing for the time. The cars looked great, and there were a lot of nice colors to choose from. I liked how it was not just your car that was detailed. Even the regular traffic cars look almost as good as the original cars. Some of the crashes that occur are also very good, and you will see car parts litter the streets after all the crashing is through. The effects of speed were good, although you only got a true sense of speed when you used turbo.

The sound was ok, but it could have been a lot better. The cars sounded fine, and the boosts sounded great as well. I just didn't like the music very much, but I guess that depends on what you like. The crashes sounded pretty realistic, and it made the crashing a bit more fun with all of those ringing noises everytime something crashed.

I think the gameplay is the best thing that this game has to offer. I don't think it compares to Burnout 3 at all, but it is still pretty fun. The races will last a long time usually, and there are a lot of races to do in this game. My favorite part of this game was definetly the crash mode. It is especially fun in multiplayer, where you can compete to see who can get the worst crashes. I think that it was a great idea for them to make Burnout 3 all about crashing, because that was the best part of Burnout 2.

If you like crashing, or you just tend to crash a lot anyway, then this game is right for you. But if you like racing simulatiopn style games, then I would not recommend this game. It has bad rubber-band AI, and one crash can put you into last place even after being in 1st for over 5 minutes.
