A racing game for non-racing gamers? Defenitely.

User Rating: 9.3 | Burnout 2: Point of Impact GC
I would not normally go out and purchase a racing game, many of you may be thinking the same thing, but let me suggest to go out and rent the game or borrow it from a friend, or better yet, play it with your friends. This is an adrenaline packed GameCube title offers up much more than a regular realistic racing game.

If you still have reservations about playing a racing game let me say this, have you ever played a game where you get rewarded for coming as close to certain doom as possible and then cheating death? Ever received a higher score for causing the most expensive multi-car pileup you’ve ever seen? Ever gotten to race and run down your friends in a cop-and-robber high speed chase where the police car player must demolish the criminal player’s car to get it to stop?

This game is unlike any other you may have played, and once you’ve gotten past all the single-player racing sessions you can unlock the crashing levels, and then play them with friends. If you can get a four-friend Burnout fest going, you know you are in for some good memories. The action never stops, and even if someone is in last place it only takes one incident to crash the leading racers and let the last place take the lead, that or some action packed near-impacts to get that Burnout Nitro Meter (…no idea what it’s called) to full and let you fly past all the other traffic.

Go out and try this game, if you like wacky racing games with a severe twist to keep it fresh (like FlatOut) then this game will make you happy. It is one of those games you can pick up and play anytime you get bored or have some spare time and need a quick thrill, yet complex enough to keep you entertained for hours if you should like to play that long. (This review may or may not apply to the other titles in this series as I have not played them, yet.)
