An incredible game, especially for a racer.

I've played my share of racing games, and most of them do nothing different from the others to set them apart. This game does everything different. Sure, it's a racing game, but it's also about battling your opponents and causing mass amounts of damage. That's what sets this game apart. Gameplay: Everything in this game works pretty well with each other. It's very fun to play (all of the modes) but frustration plays a key part in this game. You have to expect that from a game where your on highways, with traffic, battling your opponents at breakneck speeds (over 150 mph.) There is a lot of crashing going on, and some of it will involve you. That's some of the frustration. The other thing is, how come the cars you're against can be 30 seconds ahead of you, but you can only get 1 second ahead of them before they catch up? The enemy AI always stays with you, and it seems impossible to lose them. These factors can frustrate you to the point of smashing your controller to an oblivion, but you want to keep playing so you can smash up those cars. Crash mode is great. It's incredibly addictive, but I've found that it is always based around getting the crash multiplier, which multiplies your score x2 or x4. It is a challenge, and it's one that you'll find yourself playing over and over again. Graphics: Fantastic. The only problems that I found were that the crashing animations were repetitive (glass always breaks the same way) and that sometimes your car will jerk around after wrecking. But otherwise, they are very realistic. The "blur effect" really adds something to the races that makes you feel like you're going lightning fast. Sound: For the most part, very good. I actually enjoyed the songs that EA set up in EA Trax. Some of the noises that you hear are repetitive, but are very well done. By the way: turn off the DJ; he's really annoying. Value: So many modes, cars, awards, etc. that make you want to go back and race or crash. Plus, it's just plain fun! Tilt: There is nothing that should stop you from buying this game. I kind of slammed on the game for being frustrating, but it's nothing that you can't handle. And, $20 is a steal of a price. Buy it, and enjoy!
