Burnout Takedown is all about risk and reward and taking down other racers! The game gives you lots of different race types and crashing events to keep you busy for a while. Along the way you will unlock cars, special events and other stuff. The game is divided in 3 main sections (USA, Europe, Far East) and each includes a lot of different races and events (170+ in total). Raming into other racers to make them crash is so addictive that most of the times I wasn't even paying attention on what position I was in.. or how many laps was left. Whenever you crash your own car, you can toggle a slow-mo mode in which you can stear you wreck and try to crash into other racers... it is a nice feature and works well in tight spaces.
The graphics are excellent and the sense of speed is awesome. I haven't noticed any framerate issues or similar problems. This game is a technical marvel considering the PS2 hardware.
The sound effects are great but the awesome soundtrack is the highlight. A lot of great tunes that fits well with the crazyness that goes onscreen. There's a DJ that talks once in a while and he can be repetitive... especially if you keep trying the same race over and over again to get the gold medal.
The gameplay is incredibly tight and there's a lot of stuff to do.. so this game will keep you occupied for a long while. More so if you wish to acheive all the gold medals and special unlockables.
This game needs to be checked out! It's great!
