Great racing game. The crashes are lots of fun!

Burnout 3: Takedown is unlike any racing game I've ever played before (I have not played the first two in the series.) Depending on which type of event you're entering, the goal may not be only to win the race, but instead cause the most damage possible with a spectacular crash, or take out as many of your rivals as you can. The controls and sense of speed in the game are great, and it's really a lot of fun to play.

The only complaint I have is with the graphics. They are not very sharp, and I have a difficult time seeing objects in the distance ahead of me. For example there is a stretch in the Downtown area where there are lots of pillars in the middle of the road. I have a hard time seeing when they are in front of me, and end up crashing into them a lot. At least crashing is fun in Burnout!

The sound doesn't really give me much to write about. It's your typical car sounds and EA Trax. Not bad, but not great either.

Now that Burnout 3: Takedown is a Greatest Hit, you can pick it up for $19.99. If you like racing games and are looking for something a little different, I highly suggest trying it out!
