I had preorded this game about 4 months before its release and man I can tell you it was worth my money and time! Everything about this game is top notch. This game is 100% arcade racer , so if you came expecting maybe even a little bit of gran turismo go elsewhere. The handling of the vehicles is incredibly well done and is one of those games when you play and it just feels right. Speaking of vehicles there are 67 in total! There are alot of different models but there are alot of similar looking vehicles to. Also keep in mind there is not a single licensed vehicle avaliable so if you were planning to smash up those ugly ford focus's i'm sorry but its not an option although many models look very similar to real life automobiles. The main reason why I bought this game is because it is the only racing series to focus alot on crashing and vehicle damage. I can tell you now they did an amazing job! Ramming other cars into a medial divider and watching as their once pristine beauty explode into a thousand peices is one hell of a sight! I mean you just have to see it to believe it, I have killed tons of cars and not one crash looked the same! Another feature I liked about crashing was that if you hit a gas tanker it explodes and if you hit a cargo rig all of the crago flys off the truck and all over the road making for some awsome looking carnage! On to the game modes! The main mode is world tour, in this mode you start off in the good ol war happy U.S. and start your international road rage from hell. There are many different modes you will have to master to move on and unlock more tracks and events. Some of these modes are the standard race, road rage (kill set # of cars before time runs out or you car dies),hot lap (make one lap around in the set time), crash (run your car into many different intersections (100 in total) and score big money, plus many more. You do all of these events in the U.S.,Europe, and the Far East. When you complete an event you are awarded a medal (bronze, silver, gold) you want to get golds becuase that is how you unlock more events and alot of the cars. Also when you complete events you are awarded points for different things which also total up after time and unlock more cars. The world tour mode is pretty massive and should take a good few days to complete. Plus you can play these modes with your freinds or on xbox life with full traffic so this is the perfect get together game. Now the Graphics! Graphics! Graphics! This game have some awsome visuals. The best though has to be the sence of speed you get. When you are going 220 miles and hour it looks like it . When you are blasting down a european ally at 250 miles an hour you get one hell of a rush it feels like your eyes are going to start watering. Plus when you do get to see the backrounds they are awsome looking , from mountains to white beaches and forien forests to snowy eruo steets its just awsome looking! The crashes are just incredible. When you wreck your car it twists and smashes and the doors and bumpers and just about anyting else fly off. Also I liked the fact that the cars go airbourne alot when they crash it is really cool to see your oppenent fly over your roof at 150 miles and hour and smash into traffic in the other lane. Now I will speak of the few bad things that burnout 3 has. Number 1 is that the EA tracks really sucks. There is a bunch of no name bands with crappy indentical songs. Thank goodness though for the xbox soundtrack feature because I just got some crystal method cranking and that problem was all fixed. Also there is this really annoying DJ moron that thankfully you can turn off which I did in the first 15 minuets. One last bad thing is that some of the crash sounds are a little weak but most effects like shifting gears and the turbo kickin in sounds great. So all of the issues are sound related but nothing major. I highly reccomend this game and with so many unlockable things it will last you for a while. Plus the xbox live support is great and so is the splint screen to squeeze even more replay value out of this woderful peice of software. One word or warning with this game is when you buy it be prepared to skip school and call off of work because you won't be able to even put the controller down to go to the bathroom!
