The best racing game ever

The third time is definitely the charm for the Burnout series. It was a not so popular series before this installment. The smart thing the developers did was not giving this game a story. Let's face it, a story in a game about driving cars gets repetitive. The graphics in this game are superb. They were a great preview for what next- gen games are now like. While you drive you get to listen to the radio and not just the cars engine. The soundtrack could have been more diverse at least for the non-customizable version for the PS2. Since the focus of this game is destruction, you are rewarded for crashing your opponents as much as possible. That theme is not just presented through the "story" mode but in the Crash mode where you have to make a certain amount of money through the destruction of on-coming traffic. Another mode allows you not to race but destroy a designated amount of your competition. Burnout 3 has provided an innovative gameplay experience for players.
