Burnout may be good for its destruction derby-like gameplay, but Dominator?... isn't that good for me.
User Rating: 7.5 | Burnout Dominator PS2
It still has the essence of burning rubber, some leaking fuel, and probably some shrapnel flying around! But Burnout: Dominator does not seem to be better than its predecessors, specifically Revenge and Takedown. First of all, the only things that changed are; 1.) the term called "Burnout", where you can earn points by boosting all the way until the boost runs out, that's going to happen if you have the "supercharge" ready. 2.) The Crashbreaker, once effective in crash events, now made for racing. It's only effective if you can't reach the opponent, otherwise, you lose your boost! Yawn... Making 2 Burnouts at a time is never easy, I've never done that before. Taking down an opponent is easier than you might think of, not! I even remembered a computer opponent took me down! That's not right! They're smarter than you can think of! Okay, time for the graphics; It's much better than the previous ones, but the crashes look lamer. Most of the time, my car makes wall takedowns then the taken down car gets dragged in front of me, isn't that considered an Aftertouch Takedown?! For the gameplay; I did say it's hard, not to mention shorter. Elimination is now in a timed manner, that's scary if you're in the last place! Also, Road Rage is in a timed manner too. Now that's lame... really lame, how can you takedown an opponent if it's out of your range in 10 more seconds! There is a designated takedown breakdown number to extend the time, and it takes time to takedown more than 4 in 2 minutes! There's that thing called "record breaker", this replaced the single player mode, where you have to be as fast or as mad as you can to break your record, even for a hard work breaking the record, you won't even get points for that! Useless! All in all I give it a 7.5 out of 10. 5 for graphics, 2 for it's soundtrack, and .5 for it's gameplay.
