If Burnout Revenge was pure fun, then Dominator is pure skill....

User Rating: 9.6 | Burnout Dominator PSP
Burnout Dominator focuses on what the series began with. Then adds the a mix of 3 ( Takedowns ) and Revenge ( new versions of Eliminator & Road Rage, crashbreaker races )

The lack of crash mode might deter fans of the newer games. However, the core racing game couldn't be better. Seeing the Revenge engine in action on the PSP is pure bliss.

Gameplay:
Simply stunning, racing has never been this thrilling. I've never played the older games, but chaining Burnouts is so much exciting that it makes me wonder why didn't Criterion Games implement that in 3 and Revenge.
Tracks are new but they feel like they're reusing the assets from Revenge. Maniac mode is one of the best ideas to come out this year. Now, with chaining boosts, the leader can repeatedly gain boost (which i like).

Graphics:
Revenge Engine running at full speed. Some slowdown when crashing and using the crashbreaker. The cars have more detail and personality when compared to Legend's roster. Sound:
The soundtrack isn't as good as Legends or Revenge (Come on, 4 tracks of the same song?). Other than that, Burnout games have never skimped on sound. Crashes sounds brutal, even the horns of the passing cars fade in and out as it should.

Value:
Downloadable TRACKS? Wow... I never knew EA was THAT nice. Leaderboards are fine as well. Lack of crash mode hurts the game a little. Though I personally didn't mind. Game sharing is gone though. The newly added party play options are ok, since you can't really race WITH your friends. Ad hoc is present... but who has 4 friends with copies of the same game?
