burnout is one of the fastest and most intense racing experiences to date on the psp. what else did you expect?

User Rating: 9.3 | Burnout Legends PSP
i don't really feel like typing too much right now, so i'm going to keep this review short and sweet.
Gameplay: 10/10: Burnout's controls are easy to learn and feel very good during an intense race. Players can use either the D-pad or the analog nub to steer, which is good because some people might prefer it different ways. I think that using the D-pad works better; it's situated better on the psp and it is very responsive.
Graphics: 9/10: The car models in Legends are great. They are covered with reflective textures, they all look really cool, and, most importantly, they all blow up really nice. The environments don't look quite as good as the cars, but that really doesn't matter when you're zooming by them at 200 mph.
Sound: 9/10: The cars all sound about as fierce as they look. Crashes sound good as well. There is some good music in the game provided by EA Trax, and there are some songs that i don't like. The important thing is that every song suits the game's fast pace. Oh, and if you listen to Legends on headphones, you won't be dissapointed. I love how you can hear every car and obstical as you rush past them.
Value: With around 150 events and an ad-hoc multiplayer mode, I don't forsee anyone becoming bored with Legends anytime soon. Plus, now that it's a greatest hits game you get all of this content for $20.
Tilt: 9/10: Only a nine here. It would have gotten a 10, but in the 4 or 5 races that I just ran, I kind of felt cheated. I'm a few hours into the game, and I had to retry a race at least four times before settling with 2nd place. The first time, I should have easily won except for one problem: I crashed into an obstacle, and instead of just crashing me, it spun me around so that I was facing the wrong way. In later races, I pushed an enemy racer into a car and he just bounced off, unharmed. I haven't seen this stuff in the game before, though. The difficulty is perfectly tuned 90% of the time, hence the 9/10. In conclusion, this is easily the best racer on the PSP (haven't played Dominator, but Legends has crash mode so i deem legends better.) Buy it.
