One of the best PSP games out there. (658 Word Review).

User Rating: 8.6 | Burnout Legends PSP
Burnout Legends is available for the PlayStation Portable and for the Nintendo DS. Though they share the same name, the PSP version is a lot better. Burnout Legends for the PSP is a lot like the console version, great gameplay, sound, graphics and a sense of speed. Though there are many race events in Burnout, many of them repeat the same tracks so it gets repetitive in the long run. Fortunately, there are also many features that you can choose from, like Race, Time Attack, Road Rage, Pursuit and Crash to help improve the value.

In Race mode, it’s the usual standard race that you’d expect for any game. Time Attack is also pretty standard, it’s like a “beat-the-clock” mode where you try to beat other previous records. The Road Rage mode is where you drive around and try to take down as many opponents as you possibly can. In Pursuit mode, you play as a cop and you try to take down other cars within a time limit. The car that you’re trying to take down has a health-bar which tells you how close the car is going to be “burnt-out”. In the Crash mode, you select a car and a course you try to drive your car into many other civilian cars and try to make the largest crashes. You can also pick up power-up like icons that give you extra money and make your car have a sudden burst. These modes stand out very well and gives the game more depth.

There is also a multiplayer mode where you can race up to six players anywhere in the world. This feature works great and again, it heightens the value of the game.

In the World Tour mode, you first start off with one car and eventually earn many other cars and in different classes. There are more than seventy-five cars to choose from. Although most of the cars are basically the same, the varieties of the cars is still good to have. As you progress through the World Tour, you will also unlock new maps and tracks that you can race on in single player mode and you also earn medals in every race. The amount of Gold medals that you earn will unlock new cars. During World Tour mode, you get to play through the modes that were previously listed above.

The gameplay is one of the highs in this game. This game is a lot of fun to play. And the controls are well laid out and there are two control modes to choose from to suit your fingers. This game is challenging and exciting to play.

Burnout Legend’s graphics are hands down, one of the best I’ve seen in any PlayStation Portable game. The crashes look very convincing and that makes the game stand out. The car models are well designed and look fantastic. The courses look and feel like what they’re suppose to. The cities look like real cities with lots of traffic. Even with all of the extra detail that was put into this game, the frame rates are consistent and only fall here and there.

The sound in this game is truly amazing. The sound effects of the car and the crashes are all very convincing. The music in the game is pretty standard. The usually poser punk music. Most of the singers are recognizable, where some are no-names. All of this makes the game a lot more exciting to play.
This game has over seventy-five cars to choose from and dozens of tracks to race on. It has five game modes that will keep you playing and playing. E.A. has put a lot of thought into to making this game.

The overall feel of the game is fantastic, it has a nice sense of speed that makes this game one of the best the PSP has to offer. Anyone with a PlayStation Portable should definitely check it out.
