The old Burnout style in an unwelcome land.

User Rating: 8.5 | Burnout Paradise PS3
This version of Burnout is great, but only when it comes to certain aspects of the game. It has hands down some of the fastest racing you will ever see in video gaming. The bad thing is the choices made by the people that created this game. They axed some of the best party game challenges that made Burnout a great game to play with friends while you we are all drinking and carrying on. The online stuff is just that online. You are playing with people that are miles away and not next to your best friends in the same room.

The racing like I said earlier is the best arcade style racing you can buy today. You think you are traveling at the speed of light with no frame jumps or bugs. It's crazy when you think of all the stuff and lights and rendering happening at these speeds. You find new areas to travel into and ramps to jump at full throttle. It's fast people. Very very fast.

One thing I hate is the constant traveling to get to a certain race. You have to drive there and can't simple pick one and teleport there. It's annoying as hell and wondered why someone didn't think of putting that in the game. It's really frustrating because your hub map shows all the races in the same color which is just dumb. It's also annoying the extremely jumbled roads and byways of Burnout city. Every street looks the same and all go in different directions meaning you will lose and you will have to trek all the way back through the maze to find the start of the race.

Still it looks great. Drives great. Is great fun. But sorely lacking the old modes that made Burnout what it was.
