Addictive from the cars to the bikes. Online multiplayer makes it more fun.
Gameplay options include
a) Race: Typical racing. Get from point A to B and you win.
b) Stunt Run: In a given time, the player is to get as many points as possibly. Use barrel rolls, chain drifts, use jumps and boost to gain combos. Get the right car, get the right points.
c) Marked Man: Get from point A to B while surviving a hit that has been placed on you. The AI drivers are merciless if you don't evade well.
d) Road Rage: No road rage, no burnout. Smash 'em, bash 'em and takedown as many opponents as you can in the given time. You can still takedown some more after time...
e) Burning Route: After unlocking cars, players get to test their speed along a sprint distance from certain points of the city.
f) Showtime: Players get to unleash their carnage along the roads of Paradise City like Crash mode in previous Burnout games. Only difference is that players can start it off at any time during the race
The addition of motorbikes to the series was something unexpected from Criterion but feels worthy of staying in the game. Another new feature added is the day and night cycle which players will most certainly like especially on bike rides.
By the time I got the elite license I was already bored with the repetitive tracks but online multiplayer is a good way to take a break. Take a bike for a spin with friends or race against someone online and you'll be hooked to the keyboard or controller. Vista doesn't support multi monitor compatibility though but I'm guessing its a really great feature. Hope they'll fix the bug.
