It's better than B3T in every way, but it lacks the impact that game had.

First off, the gameplay remains relatively the same. It does, however, offer a few new tweaks. Normal traffic on the road doesn't mean instant death anymore, you can now just smash right through it. You can also use these cars as a weapon to takedown rival cars. Takedowns in the game remain relatively the same with the inclusion of vertical takedowns; allowing you to bring death from above. In specific races you also get to use crashbreakers in a race to annihilate as much of the competition as possible. The tracks in the game now offer a much better challenge than in the last game. These tracks feature of ton of shortcuts and ramps to make the races more exciting. The world tour mode returns but adds a new twist. In this mode you now earn a rank depending on your performance within a race or crash event. You also have other ways to play the game such as Burning Lap and Traffic Attack. Crash mode returns but changes the formula a bit. First off, you start your car using a golf like swing meter to determine how fast your car goes out of the start. The crash multipliers are now gone as you must really plan out the route of your car in order to cause the biggest crash.

Next, the graphics in the game are incredible. It's especially impressive considering this is on a PS2. The tracks do look a bit more detailed and cars (made especially for the game) look amazing.

The sound in the game is incredible. You'll dodge and weave between cars at breakneck speeds. All the sounds comes out crisp and clear and adds to the game immensily. The soundtrack though is a mixed reaction. Some of the songs fit with game perfectly while others sound like they just don't belong. This isn't a problem though, as you can turn the song list off or customize which songs play yourself.

This game has a ton of unlockable cars and tracks. It will take you quite a while to unlock everythin adding a ton to replay value. The game's online remains relatively impressive even though it feels similiar to the first's.

In conclusion, the game may not have the wow impact that Burnout 3 had, but it's still a must have for anyone who is a fan of racin games.
