Burnout is back and reminds the gamers on how great the series really is.
I remember the graphics in Burnout 3 when I first saw them. They where jawdropping gorgeous, and I didn't think the Xbox had any more to show of, but I was wrong. Burnout Revenge looks awesome with more realistic environments and even prettier car models than the ones in Takedown. The menu looks just amazing, and the overall presentation of the game is very good.
The sounds are great. And the music is, like allways in a game from EA, top notch, and I allways ask myself: Where do they find all these awesome songs? The sound effects are very good, and hearing your boost kicking in while listening to "Red Flag" from Billy Talent really reminds us why we all love Criterion.
The game is very simular to Burnout 3 and it doesn't try hard being different either. But the new things that's been added are all for the better, and the old things that's been removed I've allready forgot. Some new things are the ranking system where you start at rank 1 and work your way up to rank 11. After reaching each rank you get access to more races and crash events, and this gives the game a nice progress. The crash events have been changed from last year. There are no pick ups this time, and you start up with a meter where you're supposed to hit the sweet spots to earn a boosting start. The removal of the pick ups are very welcome, cause it makes you think alot more than just constantly trying to hit that 4x sign. The racing has had some work too, cause you can now ram into all of the cars driving in your direction, with the exception of big busses and huge trucks. This makes the game even more chaotic and it's just so much fun. You even have new modes like crashbreaker races and crashbreaker road rage, which is basically the old modes from Burnout 3, but with the inclusion of the crashbreaker. So if you crash, you can now blow yourself up, and see if you can destroy your opponents as well! Burnout Revenge is recommended to everyone that enjoys racing or extremely entertaining games!

Isn't that much different from Burnout 3: Takedown.
