Burnout Revenge is one of the most exciting games ever made,compared to the previous part (Takedown),Revenge has a Darker Feel to the game,where you not only takedown rivals for Boost and fun,this time its serious and you mean business,you takedown your rivals for pleasure,boost,and most of all its about Revenge,what i really like about this game is that its sense of speed is like no other driving game yet,and believe me that feelin is awesom...
GAMEPLAY;
Burnout Revenge as we all know has'nt got awards for nothin,& the reason is as follows,lets start with the gameplay,now as i mentioned earlier the gameplay features more ways of taking town rivals for instance,you can shunt the traffic to your rival to take um down,perform a vertical takedown by ramps,higher platforms etc,use the alternate paths to ram your rival sideways,aftertouche your rival,get a payback by blowing your car to take down as many rivals closeby,and speakin of extra paths,revenge is quite a bit more complicated compared to Takedown,especially with the alternate paths that are either shortcuts or unfortunately will be longercuts,its you to decide and experience,there are ramps,highplatforms,and a lot more stuff to fly high and ram your rivals silly,the framerate is rock solid concedering the crisp graphics its pulled off...Ohh yes let me get back to the takedown topic,when you takedown a rival the takedown is a little different from the previous installment,the takedown camera is like your lookin back at your rival takendown for about 2 seconds,at first burnout fans might just find it odd but in time will get used to it and begin to love it .Besides what i mentioned in the gameplay the rest of the features in racing are pretty much the similer to takedown,like aftertouches,shunting takedowns,ohh yes and those tempting signature takedown are quite a bit more and waiting for you to unlock them...Now for the crash mode which is massive fun in its own calm way,is quite a bit different from Burnout Takedown,there are multiply paths to block to destrol traffic and try to get as much carnage you can,and when you do instead of the 4x's money and the floating bonuses in the previous part,you need to cause a more carnage by blocking all the paths you can for more traffic to pile up and you build up your bar and the best bart is that you can blow yourself up multiple times and that gets your points the more cars you blowup the more points you earn..............................................................................
GRAPHICS;
The graphics for revenge is quite a bit better than the previous part Takedown,its got a more dustier,real look to the environment,the framerate is rocksolid and fast,with more vast(vast meaning more alternate paths) and detailed environments,and the water is improved alot,it actually looks like water this time,there are more cars more maps,overall the textures are thicker then takedown,but remember this review is only for the Xbox,cause if you wanna compare the PS-2 version,its slightly different,the loading times are slower compared to the Xbox version,the oncoming traffic is slightly less visible,about this visible concept gamer have the wrong idea by thinking the framerate is faster since you can see the traffic from far,thats when they're wrong,its actually the distance that proves the point , the environments are good but ar'nt as crisp like the Xbox version,now dont get me wrong,lets get to whats good in the PS-2's version that the Xbox lacks,the PS-2 version has some cool sunglare effects on the car models,meaning the pixel shaders are a bit more for you to experience that real blinding light reflected from the road and the car models,basically Burnout Revenge is an excellent game for both consoles,but my point is tht if your lookin for a weebit better experience go for the Xbox version...
SOUND;
Now Burnout Revenge's sound is one of the best ive ever heard,almost every little sound can be heard from metal to glass pieces,the trust of wind and the traffics sounds can be heard,the explosions sound mindblowing,and when you start your boost its like your takingoff a jet,its simply an amazing experience and the best part is that you dont only need a surround system to experience it,you'll be satisfied with the sound you recieve from your television,but iam not sayin dont try it out on a surround,obviousely surround sounds much better,my point is that you wont missout much comparing both...The soundtracks play quite a role in bringing the darker side to Burnout Revenge,its not pop rock like the previous part,the soundtracks rock the hell outta you when you race,its basically more hardcore rock experience,the rythem of these soundtracks blend very well with Revenge's gameplay,and most of all,by any chance if you dont fancy the music(which i doubt)the Xbox version features custom soundtracks too,how cool is that??? .......................................................................
BOTTOMLINE;
Ive spoke about the gameplay,graphics,sound and its seems not only unbelievable but that will make you wanna get this game and experience a racing game like never before.Burnout Revenge is a must have racing game for every Xbox owner,it,unless certain gamers dont have the skills for a game racing game this intense like this..................
