Kids love it - their parents do, too!
The idea of the game is about four little monkeys determining who to be the king of the monkeys by going through a number of competitions. When starting the game you decid how many of the small games you weant to play -- quite a useful feature. Then you choose the colour of your monkey and - if you like- his attire, such as sunglasses, shirts, shoes, etc. Then the party begins. Having played quite a number of times the game still doesn't bore me at all, even if the gameplay revolve around a limited number of ideas: Either you have to recall a sequence of colours, or be quick to push the correct colour buttons, or plainly gamble against some time factor. But still, some of the games really surprise, such as the elephant baseball or tge penalty shootout. In other words, loads of challenges, both for kids and gown-ups.
In addition, you just got to love the soundtrack, consisting of merely tribal beats that add lots of atmosphere to the game, especially in the competitions where you have to mimmick drum patterns presented by the giant gorilla. Pedagogically, the game is nice insofar as the focus is drawn away from winning by making the fun in the game most important. Beneath the king of the monkeys, there aren''t any losers!
