This game isnt horrible. Which is more than I thought I would be able to say about it.

This game actually did keep me occupied for a few hours after my Guitar Hero controller broke. But I havent played it since then and I hadnt played it before that. This game is a very disjointed mess where you basically choose a character, an adult male, teenage male, adult female, teenage female (yes, those are the characters). After that, you choose one of several areas to hunt in and pick a season. You can choose what you want to take with you on the hunt although it makes very little difference. There are things like deer and elk calls, decoys, stands, and things like that. But if you dont hunt then you probably wont find any use for any of these things. The game really does a good job of providing diverse areas for you to hunt in. From Alaska, to the Pacific Northwest, to desert areas, each area is very different and you can really tell how they made the different seasons look and feel different. Patience, will be the key word in this game. You do get a radar system which makes things easier than they might have been. You have to rely on stealth to find the different animals, which include things like, deer, moose, elk, wolves, polar bears, and things like that. You get a certain number of tags for each animal before entering a level and you can only kill that many in an outing. It can be interesting at first to try and hunt the animals, but it gets boring and repetitive and the game does nothing to prevent this. You can choose to hunt animals by following their tracks, but this is pretty pointless and difficult considering you can just use the radar and accomplish the same task. You have no incentive to toy around with different weapons and items, although I did. And it is probably best that you dont. If you use anything other than a standard rifle, for instance the crossbow. Aiming becomes nearly impossible and you'll just end up yelling about how stupid this game is. All in all, for a hunting game, I found it really enjoyable, for an hour. After that there is nothing to make you want to come back. The career mode and the regular single hunt mode are pretty much identical, all the career mode does is track stats and trophies. The graphics in this game are pretty good and the sound provides a very atmospheric feel, but they arent enough to redeem this game.
