Call of Duty 2: Big Red One, puts you right beside the great soldiers of the 1st Infantry Division of WWII
Big Red One is about the great soldiers of the 1st Infantry Division of WWII. These soldiers became famous for their amazing fighting and victories on the battlefield and became known as "The Big Red One." This name struck fear into the hearts of their enemies, and it stayed there until the very second they were turned into a human pin-cussion by one of these soldiers. The Big Red One fought in both Africa in Europe, fighting in some of WWII's biggest battles, including the beach landing in Normandy. The Big Red One fought battles against many of the big Axis powers, including the Africans, Italians, and also the Germans. In many of the battles fought, the Big Red One was out numbered, but they always came out victorious.
The game Big Red One packs all the action and intensity of war into a tiny disk. The suspense never goes away. You'll be sweating bullets as you try to get by a whole German division, left with next to no health and just a couple of your men at your side. The action never ends. Someone is always trying to shoot your head off or blow you up...or both!
Big Red One also has an amazing online multiplayer mode. The maps are large and very PC-like. With game modes like Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, and Domination, and maps like Kasserine, Bucholtz, and Gela, you'll never get bored. Plus, you have the chance to prove you're better than everyone else and blow out people's brains from across the globe!!! Or...if you completely suck....you can run around getting killed, or driving tanks into little running people.....and end up getting blown up....
The gameplay and story is not the only good thing about the game. Big Red One also has some great graphics and amazing sound. You can hear the footsteps of the enemy while hiding behind a wall. The slosh of the mud as you run, or the crunching snow as you walk. The weapons sound as real as they can...just not as deafening.
I bought the collectors edition for $60. Though there is not much difference between it and the normal $50 version, every single penny was worth it. I'd even be willing to spend $100 on it.
I would say, the only thing I would change to this game, is to add a splitscreen mode, but still, without it, this game ROCKS!!!!
If you're looking for an action-packed, on the edge-of-your-seat-suspense, Call of Duty 2: Big Red One is the perfect game. Even if you're not looking for all that, it still is! Unless you have an Xbox 360...then Call of Duty 2 is!! But either way, get this game!!!
