Great console shooter, and another worthy addtion to the "Call of Duty" franchise.

Ever since Call of Duty came out for the PC back in 2003, I've been eagerly awaiting a "good" (mind the word) COD game for consoles. Well it's finally here, and it's not that bad. Infact it's actually pretty damn good, the lack of a splitscreen multi-player hurts a little, but it is still a solid game. Treyarch has done a great job giving the COD some juice by taking you along one man's journey (instead of 3). Every mission seems diverce and the game's graphics engine looks quite spectacular. Explosions, distant gun fire and the rat - tat - tat of the MG-42, puts you in COD's world and holds you there for a brief campagin of less than 10 hours.

There is no denying that this game looks fantastic, all the special effects, to the lighting, it's a great looking game. It sometimes suffers from some muddy texturing, but nothing thats going to distract you from the game. The great thing about the game is it's ability to string long levels together without ever having to load. There are missions that will take you 20 mins to fight through and not once will you see a load screen. The game is a marvel in that respect, but the rest is nothing you probably haven't seen in other shooters.

The sound design is also quite solid, all the guns sound appropiately boomy and some sound amazingly real at times. My favorite is the sound of the distant gun fire, that echo that will send shivers down your spine. Trust me, the sounds are fantastic.

Overall this is definely a improvment over the last console Call of Duty game. Every thing seems very polished, and it's still a lot of fun to play. If your a WWII fan, this is a game you need to pick up today.
