COD2: Big Red One may be another game in an overflowing genre, but it still has enough great moments to warrant a look.

So I was getting my windom teeth out, and decided to take a trip to my local store and find some cheap games to play over the weekend. I picked up this game, Men of Valor, and XIII. I decided to play this one first.
You play as a soldier in the Big Red One; or the "Fighting First" as they're called. You move from Africa, to Italy, then on to Germany. The game is relatively short; I beat it in 2 days, but it has a really good pace to it over that short time. You're never doing anything boring, missions range from tank driving/demolishing to shooting down bombers, a D-Day landing, a few other beach landings, and house to house combat in Germany.
The graphics are pretty good for the time, and they look a lot like thr Brothers in Arms games of the same genre. I noticed sometimes the enemy wouldn't shoot me when they were looking right at me but that didn't happen more than twice.
The gameplay and sound are what you'd expect - trumpets, lots of mortar bombing, hold "L" to bring gun to iron sight mode, etc. It really doesn't do anything new, but I thought it was an enjoyable experience while it lasted.
You won't be blown away, but anyone looking for a solid shooter should definitely check this game out.
