a fun war game but unfortunatley the fun doesn't last for long as it is too short
There are 13 levels in total. The prologue and the 12 chapters. It would have been much better if the experience had lasted longer. Not only do you get to fight with a gun in first person mode but you also will be fighting in tanks and even on a plane. There are only one or two levels which have you on a tank or a plane but they are one of the most fun things to do on the game. Watching an enemies plane split in half when you blast it is highly satisfying. The characters on the game are brilliant. Seargent Hawkins is your leader and is a cool character, private Bloomfield is a cocky man that gets on peoples nerves, private Kelly is a quiet man with glasses that later on in the game becomes a seargent and private Denly is a man from the south who gets really annoyed with Bloomfields cockiness. These are the members of your squad and they follow you around wherever you go in the missions. Its quite sad when some of these members die in combat. You feel like you've lost a real friend. Unfortunatley like call of duty 1 there is no split screen multiplayer. This could have been one of the improvements made over the original game. Call of duty has online multiplayer. But i myself have never tried it.
The graphics are a definete improvement over call of duty 1. The lighting effects are brilliant especially in the missions in the north african deserts. The golden sand and glaring sun looks superb. The character models also are good with reasonable detail in their faces.
The sound gives an intense war time feel. The loud gun shots and crys of the soldiers really make it feel like your in the middle of the war. The voice overs of your squad are great. Denly has a southern accent while Bloomfield has a new york type accent.
COD2 doesn't have that much value. The game is much too short and has only 13 levels. It took me 6 days to finish. I played on it about 2hours a day. I did die quite alot though so it might take you abit longer because of the difficulty. Easy is of course easy, normal is medium difficulty and hard is well...hard.
Overall COD2 is a fun war game that doesn't last that long. Despite of this though the gameplay, graphics and sound are really good. I would conisder a rent with this game but if you are a big fan of the call of duty sereis and like first person shooters then go ahead anf buy it.
