Good game in general, but very little improvement as to previous games

User Rating: 7.9 | Call of Duty 3 PS2
Call of Duty 3 is an excellent WWII first person shooter, and is fun for anyone. They did a good job with the graphics, making it look more realistic like it should be. And the overall gameplay is as fun as its predecessors. What they failed to do was make it more unique then the others (except for the story line). It's the same limited area combat where there is almost no freedom of movement. They didn't really do much with the visuals except make them a little better. Pretty much the same guns from the original Call of Duty, with the exception of a couple. The online portion is pretty much the same as its predecessors, with the exception of usable vehicles. Also, they made the sniper rifle easily 2 or 3 times more powerful than it should be. Its basically a one shot kill weapon and can ruin the fun of the game when everyone just uses them. The really good part of this game though is how it focuses on Normandy and liberating France. This allows the game to develop a strong story line and players can get a feel of how hard it was to take back France, and how each of the allies fought and where they were. Call of Duty 3 is a fun game with a unique story line, despite its likeness in gameplay to its predecessors. If you liked the first two, go ahead and get this, just don't expect much change.
