Possible the most addictive multiplayer game of all time!
The engine used by Infinity Ward, the studio which falls under Activision, is groundbreaking. Lighting, character/ weapon models, and environments are very life-like. Giving COD: Modern Warfare a sense of realism when playing. When firing a weapon towards a wall (depending if it's penetrable), the rounds penetrate through the wall. Giving an opportunity to kill enemies by surprise. The COD4 engine has been used for it's sequel "COD: World at War" and a slight modified version for the James Bond game: "Quantum of Solace" Making the COD4 engine desirable for future Activision games.
The Call of Duty soundtrack was composed and directed by Harry Gregson-Williams, the man who scored various films such as: "Shrek" and "The Rock", as well as video games (Metal Gear Solid series). COD4's soundtrack is incredible giving is a diverse feeling each time you play a level. Each level has it's own theme and no matter whether you're fighting in Middle East or Russia, the soundtrack blends in with the Modern Warfare's environment and it's action packed scenes.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has an excellent campaign as well as a stellar multiplayer. The campaign can be finished within ten hours but if you're looking for more a challenge, it's best to play the campaign under the "Veteran" difficulty for a more intense experience. The multiplayer portion is addicting and easy enough for casual gamers to get into. It also features many different game types like Sabotage, Search and Destroy, Headquarters and more. Giving gamers a variety of game types to choose from. It also features a ranking system where you start off with U.S. Marines enlisted ranks (Private to Sergeant Major) and transitioning to officer ranks (Second Lieutenant to General) after reaching Sergeant Major). After reaching level 55 (General), you have an option to "Prestige" which refreshes your weapons/in game challenges and giving you a new symbol each time you "Prestige". This can be done only 10 times.
COD4 is an excellent game and it's still one of the most played games since it's release in 2007. The soundtrack is amazing, the graphics and lighting is superb. Receiving excellent reviews and winning many awards for Action Game of the Year, Best Console Game of the Year, and Overall Game of the Year award by The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is a must have for any gamer and it's a game that shouldn't be missed.
