Still fun, lacking innovation.

With incredibly well polished games like Destiny coming out, I was expecting a little bit more. I mean, it's fun, it's call of duty, but it really feels like they're starting to lose their touch on such a great franchise. They copy and pasted the parkour mechanics from Titanfall, the firing range and threat grenades from Future Soldier, and looks like they adopted the weapon crate type of reward system from counter-strike (which is nice, but still, it's been done). I'm sure the micro-payments will make their way into things soon, and that's just frickin' sad.

The campaign is a lot of fun, and is a good length. Selectable grenades are pretty neat and I was digging them, but they took away a lot of features and it really just seems a little unpolished. There is no more levelling or experience in Survival mode and you can't create custom classes when playing in the combat readiness program.

I think that it would be really great if Activision took an extra year off to focus on making a revitalized, polished, call of duty experience. This is still a great game, but I've already seen interest rapidly decline amongst us hardcore CoD gamers. We still play it, just a lot less. I won't be picking up the season pass on this one, but it's still fun to play for a while.
