So everyone now knows that the CoD franchise is the biggest selling game of all time. With two different developers pumping out new games every year, it's hard not to get pumped up for next years November launch of a new CoD. Black Ops has outsold MW2 by a 30% margain, and is going to have longer lasting appeal than MW2, and let me tell you why.

So far I have not played the campaign, but this based just off of multiplayer, which is CoDs main focus. The multiplayer is above and beyond that of any CoD to date, offering new depths and features never seen before. For example, split-screen online. Even after WaW came out, Infinity Ward didn't get the hint that split-screen is a huge market. Look at Halo. Multiplayer is much more convienient that way if you and your buddy can be playing on the same TV rather than having him hook up his Xbox to another TV and play that way. Also look at the theater mode. Once again, even with MW2 coming out after Halo 3, Infinty Ward didn't clue in that theater and file sharing is, well, awesome. To be able to record a Tomahawk throw from 30 feet away and impaling a guy in the face is a great thing to show your friends because, let's face it, that stuff doesn't happen a lot. When you look at the multiplayer game modes for the older CoDs, Infinity Ward tried something new with Spec Ops, which was good, but they didn't expand on it whatsoever. They brought it to you with the game, but the new map packs didn't offer anything on this unique game mode which i shame. With Black Ops, they brought back the ever popular zombie mode, and gave you another map. Not to mention the new wager matches. I have to admit, these are really cool.Gun game is a lot of fun, and so is Sticks and Stones. These are all new things that Treyarch has added in to give the gamer a wider variety and more options to choose from.

Let's go into the customization aspect now. This feature alone make the game fun to play. Not over the top competitive where you hear people cussing you out, but fun. Shooting a guy in the face with a reticle that has a pink smiley face on it is just plain fun. There are more camo options, and all you have to do is earn money to buy them, instead of getting headshots to unlock camo. You can have your gun the way you want it right out of the get go instead of wasting time using attachments that you're never going to use again.

Treyarch has produced a great product here, and I hope Infinty Ward will pick up on all the unique things that they have done. All of the Infinity ward fanboys and can go and quick scope people on hacked servers and leaderboards, but I will stick with shooting people with my M16 with a Purple Skull and having fun while doing it. :)
