Treyarch really bent us over on this one!

User Rating: 2 | Call of Duty: Black Ops PC
In accordance with Treyarch's work ethic, I'm not really going to bother doing anything.

Gameplay; Nowhere near as tight as Infinity Ward's MW's 1 & 2.
Repetitive.
Nearly an on the rails shooter, again, where Infinity Ward gave you the option of approaching scenarios from various angles, this limits you to a single path. Hell, even the scripted moments aren't even that impressive.
Breaks from standard running and gunning aren't much at all, flying in the Blackbird, you'd have thought it would be fun, may look somewhat stunning, instead, it's dull as dishwater.
Hit reg... **** it, what hit reg?!
Enemy AI, all retarded, they see you running to flank them, on the hardest of settings, and they're still going to be picking their noses and shooting in the wrong direction... Well, that is to say, when you haven't got your support AI, in which case, there'll be a small army deployed against you, aiming solely for you, and nobody else!

Graphics;
I can run Crysis, full settings, no problem. This, this stutters like the jailer from Monty Python's LoB. It's dated, no doubt, MW2 surpassed this. Which ever review claimed that this was "stunning" or "breathtaking" needs a hard slap in the chops; Halo: Reach had breathtaking views, this has flat, drab views. Also, what's with the view limit, I can't see more than spitting distance.
I'm an Historian, currently writing my MA thesis, and as you can imagine, I love history, though I don't expect my new games to look like they're 4 years older than they are!

Sound;
Cap Guns. Did they use a mobile phone to record these sounds? They sound terrible.
Explosi... what? Dilute sound? Some classic songs on there though, which I feel have been somewhat sullied by association with this tripe.

Story;
**** films are fun. I'll admit to watching Mega Piranha, I laughed. That was, however, far more enjoyable than Black Ops. It's a terrible mishmash, that's attempting to be clever, however, it's no Shakespeare, it's the twilight series; pathetic. Why is it that Sam Worthington is allowed to act, or allowed in films, or any form of entertainment? His accent blazes through during some of the muffled lines he hampers through. Great, nice and immersive.

Multiplayer;

Gamespot needs to play the ****ing PC version. How dare they give this the same rating as that of the Xbox 360 and the PS3. It's so utterly broken and bugged. Disgraceful. I'm literally seething with rage! I WANT MY MONEY BACK! How dare Treyarch, and Activision, deem this 'acceptable'. Where's the support? Where are the patches? I think with the last patch, which seemed to do **** all, they said they'd try and sort out the GPU/CPU problems? That's nice, they'll try and sort it? **** you! Wager match, you'll play what they tell you, thank you very much. Lag, disconnects, inaccessibility, hacks, file loss, rank loss. There's bile in my throat as I write this. Not an objective review, by any standards, but this is a disgrace. An absolute disgrace. I may stop gaming because of this.
