An absolute overrated game. This game tries to make up with their faulty and unbalanced multiplayer.
The single-player is dull and a complete rip out of any michael bay movie. But thats probably the best part of the game. Mediocre at best. Nothing new, nothing changed. Treyarch is trying to hard to copy Infinity Wards formula. Its like asking someone to pick up a Dr. Pepper for you from the store and then they bring back the WalMart Brand, Dr. Thunder. Sure its pretty good, but not as good as the real thing.
The Zombie mode is a let down, sadly. I liked the World at War Nazi Zombie mode. It was very original and fun, also having replay ability. However, in Black Ops it seems rushed and poorly done. And the maps for the zombie mode are just boring. It is sad let down compared to the World at War Zombies. But, it provides some mediocre fun with some buddies.
The Multiplayer is the most overrated part of this game. Half of the guns are completely useless because there only about 7 guns worth using. The create an emblem is pretty cool feature but doesn't make up for the fact that the titles aren't even really titles. They're just pictures that is put beside your emblem. Also there are very few original, so called "Titles". Once you find yourself towards the end of leveling any longer, you find that there is no point trying to be original because everybody chooses the same titles. The customization is entertaining for about 10 minutes but is severely limited. And finally the gameplay itself. First off, connection is everything. Even if your the greatest player ever, whoever is the host could win anyways because the lag is rediculous. You may be getting shot at, you turn the corner for cover with plenty of health left. But then 2 sec later you end up being killed by a curved bullet. But when you look at the killcam it plays out totally different. The Graphics of the multiplayer are drastically downgraded. Im often reminded and disgusted by looking at how bad the multiplayer graphics are. The maps are entirely way too big for anybody to play unless it is Ground War. I cannot forget to mention how unoriginal the maps are. And the worst part is the spawning system. One minute your whole team is on oneside of the map, you get shot and realize your on the other side for no reason. The enemy could be no where near your spawn at all. Yet, your transported right next to the enemy. Sometimes in the middle of a firefight. Many times in front of an enemy. Or sometimes behind the enemy. Did I forget to mention the many times you will spawn at the farthest deepest part of the map away from EVERYBODY!? Overall the multiplayer gameplay is a failed attempt to copy infinity ward. It may provide a bit of hours of entertainment simply because it is a CoD game, but other then that this game fails in comparison to MW2 and MW. Many times you may get frustrated on the nonsense that happens every 5 seconds. Im being very generous by giving a 6. Im already preparing for the next big multiplayer hit to replace CoD because of this game.
