Newest series but with the same graphic ;) (with abit of upgrade).
It felt like yesterday since a new call of duty series comes out and here we have another new installment for the series by the developer of Call of Duty : World at war that's right Treyach and not Infinity Ward. The story takes place not in the near future nor current issues but it takes place during the Cold War period however bear in mind the story didn't stay in one location/country unlike World at War but instead it takes places where communist are. That's right, you're not fighting Nazi or Imperial Japan but the communist instead thus you will be transported to a country within the mission/flashback.
Right, I'm going to have to avoid as much spoiler as possible because it's a first person shooter and linear. So it'll be a short review I'm afraid (because I don't know what to write actually :P). Long story short it is intense with alot of action but abit too much of the slow motion bullet shooting(that's right I'm getting abit irritated with it). You could say they took the Infinity Ward's gameplay and putting it all in the game so you will feel right at home for the current fans of the previous instalment/series. But let me say this out loud. It's the COLD WAR not now era so don't expect an Infra Red or laser guided missile(although there is a prototype) but afraid not my good Samaritans because the cold war are the stepping stones of the modern weaponry (you could thank the arm race between the Soviet Union and the U.S of A).
Graphics are okay, I'm not saying it is bad rather it is near perfect but still have a few bits and pieces missing though. The characters model/texture are perfect with the right shade and all probably because they want it to look good in a theatre mode thus making them look like actors in a Hollywood movie. But you still could be able to tell the lacking of textures when you crouch/crawl on a grass or when you look on the pavement/soil but you won't notice it unless you were paying attention to the graphics rather than the story.
There are however a few tiny bit of bugs that you could notice every once in a while but this won't affect your enjoyment of the game so don't worry too much about it. Bugs such as your friendly AI running infront of you making you hitting them instead of the commie or the unwillingness of your allies to shoot the enemy till they are within melee range(sometimes they just walk away and leave you to it) or the occasion unsynchronised lips and the sound coming from it(so lips are moving but no sound coming out) and lastly sometimes the sounds are abit faster than the subtitles are some of the bugs that I found. Well they probably already update it but because I don't have an internet connection connecting to my 360 thus leaving me not be able to go online to update nor participate in multiplayer activities.
On and all the game is awesome but I can't gave it a 10/10 cause it look somewhat familiar/similar to the previous series but I guess it's the franchise own uniqueness I think. But then again if you like the story(like me) you'll enjoy it anyway. Good job Treyach for living up to the series expectation and keep up the good work.
