Although Black Ops offers great multilayer and a flashy campaign, the game play is uneven and at times even glitchy.
Though the campaign has some sloppy moments, the overall feel is exciting. I feel as though some of Treyarch's most recent Call of Duty's have been pumping out the generic World War plots and game play but Black Ops changed this. The story felt new and explored some new historical moments in Call of Duty. Though sometimes cliche, the cut scenes thrown into the game play were a welcome addition. I also liked that the story stayed with a few main characters, as opposed to branching out and hurting character development. The campaign was a bit short but I was still impressed with the direction that Treyarch took it in.
To sum up my review, the game is worth the price point. Even though the campaign is short, there is so much more game play on the disk. The obvious addition of multilayer and Nazi zombies makes for a lot of game play. Hopefully, Treyarch continues to give the fans new stories and game play.
Overall I give Treyarch's newest Call of Duty an 8 out of 10 because there is still room for improvement. Good work Treyarch. Keep it up and maybe one day the fans won't be able to tell the difference between a Treyarch Call of Duty game and an Infinite Ward Call of Duty game.
