Hate it? get over yourselves.
On the other hand, many will say that it is the most innovative and deep gaming experience of the decade. these people have just bought into the hype that a paid review is supposed to incite.
I don't back either side, because when it comes down to the wire, the game is just fun, with single-player being a great way to spend your time while following an interesting story, and multiplayer just being an enjoyable aspect of any already fun game (that is, when seven year old children are screaming into your headset).
The storyline is classic formula, with big plot twists leading up to the fight against the BBEG (big bad evil guy). However this tried and true formula does not make the game any less challenging or enjoyable, providing likeable characters and an enjoyable hypothetical take on cold war covert action.
The multiplayer has been scaled incredibly to allow players of any skill to get into the game without having to upgrade to better guns first. while higher tier weapons are much more effective, those just starting out will not be at a horrendous disadvantage.
Is it the "deep innovative experience" that is promised on the package? probably not, but it isn't outright garbage to be scoffed at just for the brand printed on the case. If gamers could get over themselves and just enjoy fun games, then those games that are actually fun, or immersible will be given the credit they deserve.
