Pure and simple this game kicks ass
During this game you take the role of soldier Mason, who finds himself restrained and being questioned by mysterious figures. As this happens he constantly falls in and out of consciousness each time revealing more and more of his splintered story.
I will keep this simple by saying that I think that the game amazing and well, deserved of all the hype, in fact I would go as far to say as it is the best Call of Duty game to date. A brilliantly crafted game offering a truly enthralling and engaging experience. I was unsure as to how Treyarch could out do there Call Of Duty brethren and their modern warfare series but this is it. Finally the overly recycled WW2 inspiration has been ditched in favor of a war that spans Russia and Vietnam whilst at the same time introducing a brilliant cast of characters and a great plot.
The set pieces are stunning, from the claustrophobic rat tunnels of nam to the annihilation of a huge battle ship at sea. All the levels are steeped in themed detail that gives the game real character. This is then supported by a superb musical score with the likes of the Rolling Stones supporting the tracks.
The game is still a little shorter than I would have liked it to have been taking well under 10 hours to complete. They do however have the brilliant zombie mode which they out did themselves with. yes there was a zombie mode on the previous game but this time around there is a great twist and it is well supported with new levels, weapons and characters. This is the mode that has made me love this game. When playing online working together with mates against a horde of zombies is epic fun.
I feel that some people have some strange allegiance to Modern Warfare and are quick to put this game down. The only people missing out here are themselves. I still have people come up to me and say they only play MW2 usually without giving this game even an hours play. Madness.
This game has been a real highlight for me. A slick, action packed single player supported with solid online, from zombies to death match the options are many, all of them great!
I was close to giving this game a 9.5 but felt that the short story detracted a little from the experience. This game is one of the best games I have had the pleasure of playing and I only hope you believe me when I can safely say I am far from a Call of Duty fanboy.
