Granted the PC version of the game is much better (as usual), this "port" ain't a TOTAL waste.

User Rating: 7.7 | Call of Duty: Finest Hour XBOX
Although I've certainly played better World War II games, Call of Duty does manage to surpass some of the more recent Medal of Honor games. But, that is not exactly a hard thing to do. The gameplay in Finest Hour is fairly solid. It's nothing new or revolutionary, but it's pretty fun nonetheless. The controls work fine, with maybe a few minor adjustments from the default. The controls for vehicles are pretty realistic, but none of us are trained to drive tanks, as far as I know so it's kinda difficult to do. The AI wasn't the best I've ever seen, but there's been far worse before. The level design was okay, it wasn't crappy but it could use a little work. The graphics weren't very advanced and they seemed a little rigid, but they weren't bad enough to hurt my eyes from looking at them. Character movement was done pretty well, including when they went prone for sniping. The sound is pretty solid as well. Nothing special, but there's definitely been worse. The gunfire is pretty good and it added to the immersion of the game. The game was pretty immersive. The way the levels were set up and the sounds being made gave it the feel of a chaotic run-and-don't-stop kind of feel. I enjoyed the kind of atmosphere that the developers created, especially in Stalingrad (the game's best level, in my opinion). The voice acting was pretty good, especially the commander in the beginning. Good accents and accurate dialogue. In short, if you're looking for a Medal of Honor-style shooter, Call of Duty is for you. Just don't expect a whole lot.
