This review is only for the online multiplayer + zombies content for Advanced Warfare. I haven't gotten into the campaign yet....
Multiplayer - if you were hoping for something epic and fresh, you will be disappointed. The game pulls a lot from last year's BO3, yet still manages to not feel as fun or interesting. The "rigs" you can chose all look the same, even after you open up new content in the key boxes. I think the art direction is a bit off this year. The colors are all too dark. So far, no fun player body camos like last year's graffiti robot or jester. Just some subtle changes in color or helmet type. Last year kept me coming back for more and more due to how they set up the achievements. So far after about 20 hours of play I could care less about winning a new calling card or emblem. It's also harder to accumulate keys- seems to take about 1.5 to twice as long to earn enough for a rare box (30 keys) as it did last year. So it's a bit more of grind. The maps also feel too similar to one another. Some cool outer space planetary art in the background, but for the most part, after you have played each map 5 or 6 times you get somewhat bored.
Zombies - the 80's flashback Spaceland zombies map is a very cool addition. Loving the DJ and actual 80's songs in the background. Haven't gotten very far but think i'll be spending more time on this than the multiplayer.
All in all, at $80 for the Legacy edition which includes the Modern Warfare remastered maps, its not a complete loss. I'll spend some time on the campaign, Modern Warefare multiplayer, and zombies. But i highly doubt I will opt in for the season pass and extra maps and content, based on how the Advanced Warfare multiplayer is set up. Might be time to put COD on the back burner and check out other titles until next November
