I love COD. have been buying the series for as long as I had my playstation 2 & 3. Modern Warfare was great. but I have been busy with Killzone 2 and other action games (inFamous and most recently Uncharted 2 - which I'm still playing) since MW's absence in 2007. but I got to say, while the multiplayer part was great, and I mean it is super, I was a little disappointed with the single player, it was too short. The pace, the action, like the first MW, giving you the sense that it was a real war going on, was all there - with sound fx, voice acting etc, but I think it is way too short for the price tag. but it was fun while it lasted - all 6-7 hours of it.
I mean don't get me wrong, I'll still play the game online, but I will largely abandon the single player now that I have beaten it. Will it be Game of The Year? Maybe, but I will be really surprise if it did win. At the end, COD:MW2 is a great game, but it feels a little bit like an updated version done well. Should you buy it? Yes, because of the multiplayer, that's without a doubt - the hours spent there will be endless. but if you're not gonna go multiplayer then I'd reconsider. My bet is on Uncharted 2 for Game of the Year for the PS3...just a thought.
