I've edited my review, now that I've had the game for a while
However the main thing drawing people to this game is the multiplayer. It uses the same system as COD4 and COD5 which everyone knows and loves. The addition of new weapons is good, and the online maps are ok BUT the game is so unbalanced!
e.g The gun unlocked at level 70 (final level) is the AK-47 which isn't all that great, but the weapon unlocked at level 7 is the SCAR-H which is amazing. I understand that Infinity Ward wanted to make it as accessible as possible but I think they've gone too far.
Then there's the attachments. One of the attachments is "akimbo" which allows you to hold two SMGS, Machine Pistols, Pistols and some shotguns. Now with the pistols and maybe machine pistols this is ok, it balances them by making them only usable at really close range by stopping you aiming down the sights. However no one ever aims down the sights with the 2 shotguns you can get it for anyway, which makes them way overpowered, and being able to hold to primary weapons....I'm not ever gunna go into thermal scopes and heartbeat sensors!
Some of the perks are ok, e.g cold blooded which stops killstreaks from seeing you. But then there are things like commando which increase your knifing range from being reasonable to being able to jump enormous distances instantly which to be quite honest is a load of ****.
I'm not saying that MW is a bad game, not by any standards however after you've had it a while you begin to realise that perhaps its not quite as good as you once thought it was.
