What more can I say....it's no game of the year.
The level design I noticed while playing seemed lackluster this time around and the graphics are let's say, a complete letdown. The PS2 comparable textures and less than stellar 1080p resolution completely ruined the game in my mind. There also appeared to be no anti-aliasing which really, really makes it look bad. The only part of the game worthy of PS3 graphics are the menus. Even with the mediocre graphics, prepare yourself for some action-stopping/dizzying frame rates drops.
Most of the multiplayer maps are well thought out and leveling up is fun like MW1, but that's where it ends.
Horrible MP aimbot controls you can't turn off......check!
Muddy graphics making spotting your enemy at medium to far distances a chore.......check!
Horrible matchmaking system with plenty of lag to go around.......check!
Glitchers, hackers, host advantage........check!
Screaming and cursing pre-teen nonsense.....check!
I played thru the single player and I am on my way to leveling up to 70 in the MP, after which I will likely trade it off and forget about it. I got bored with the maps when I was leveling up somewhere in the 20's and it's gonna be a grind leveling up the rest of the way to 70.
I'll probably pick it up on the PC some day when it hit's the bargain bin or comes with my next GPU upgrade for another play thru possibly. I was so annoyed with the whole graphics thing, well it just plain stinks.
It seems their heart wasn't completely in this game and it shows. I feel a little letdown, but it was fun at times i guess. I just wish it would have been better all around. It's just your typical below average first person shooter with several hours of MP fun.
If a score of 7.0 is average here on Gamespot, well this game deserves less, much less. I'll have to disagree with a score of 9.0.
