It's not easy to make a good sequel to a great game but Infinity Ward did it. Before we go any further I need you to understand the problem with sequels. See, a lot of developers make sequels that stray too far from the formula of the original game and they often fail to make a game that lives up to the original. When that happens the first thing that pops up in your mind is, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." But on the other hand when game developers try to make a game that resembles too much like its predecessor, you'll have people saying how it's the same game all over again, for example: Dynasty Warriors, Madden, King of Fighters, you get the idea. So the thought that Infinity Ward actually made a sequel that lives up to its hype is pretty overwhelming.

Like the first Modern Warfare the campaign isn't something you would call long, actually it's really short, so if you don't have internet access from your gaming console, you probably shouldn't pick it up. With that said, the multiplayer is where the bulk of the game is really at. Make no mistake, it's a hella fun. It's even better if you have friends that have their own copy of this game as you can create a clan and dominate a match together.

The graphics in this game is pretty amazing even though I think graphically the first game was actually better but some could argue otherwise. The sound design is actually better than the visuals as some people could use it to their advantage during multiplayer battles. Listening for footsteps, explosions, and gunfire could reveal the location of an opponent while recklessly throwing grenades and shooting could give away your own position to your opponents.

The only downsides to this game is the multiplayer maps and the spawn system. Speaking for myself, I feel that the maps aren't as balanced as the maps in the first Modern Warfare. In some maps it is definitely better for your team to occupy one side rather than the other. Now with the spawn system in this game, occasionally you'll spawn next to a thrown grenade or right where you just died, beside the enemy that just killed you. This can be frustrating at times but it doesn't happen often. Even with the aforementioned flaws, this is definitely a game everyone (with internet) should pick up.
