I tried it although everyone told me it would be terrible. The lag in multiplayer makes it unplayable unrealistic and just plain not fun to play. I would recommend call of duty 4 or even 1 or 2 before this game. I thought world at war was a broken game but this is far worse. Hit boxes are far worse than the original Call of Duty game which is 10 years old I believe and if that doesn't scare you away then be like me and waste 60$ on less than 20 hours of fun....well 20 hours of trying to create fun would be more accurate. The good is the graphics and the co-op play in the single player menu. You and a friend can do short missions together and I actually enjoyed that part of it more than anything else MW2 had to offer. However for $60 this is a huge rip-off. Those who found that the zombie mod in COD5 to be the best part of that game may find the same conclusion here with MW2. After 2 consecutive failed games after releasing a great run of games I am convinced that the COD franchise has gone a different direction for the worse and I will not bother purchasing another title from the series. Games like Bad Company 2 seem to have much more promise and I will be looking more in that direction. A simple fix would be to allow the modders in and dedicated servers to exist. This however was shot down by Infinity Ward despite thousands of requests by it's customers. A much smarter company is sure to come in and answer these requests and should be rewarded greatly with a once dedicated COD fan base in there court. I just hope Infinity Ward realizes it is running itself off a cliff even though the hype kept them alive for this round.
