Visually stunning, but just another FPS

User Rating: 8 | Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 PS3
This happens to be my first Call of Duty game that I've ever played, so this review may not refer to the first MW as I've never played it. After playing the story mode and the online, I'll probably keep buying future COD titles that future weapons that look modern enough, hopefully Black Ops will satisfy that demand.

I'll do my best to make this review short and simple, which means I won't focus on too many things, but only the main things.

Story
I didn't pay too much attention to the story as the whole point of all FPS games are to shoot anything that moves. The story flips between several platoons of soldiers, which means that you will need to play as different characters throughout the game and not as one person. The storyline keeps you hooked onto the game. In fact, as you play on, you will feel as though you really want to kill the bad guys.

Graphics
The graphics look really nice. Almost everything in this game, ranging from the scenery, the guns, blood, explosions, etc, all look amazing.

Multi-player
MW2 lets you take the warfare online by offering a variety of assault rifles, SMGS, shotguns, etc to be used at your disposal. There are also perks that allow you to match the playing style that you play with. However, the multiplayer may be the most frustrating thing I've ever encountered. There are more campers in this game than any other online FPS I've played. Also, there are many things about the online that are considered to be broken such as the spawn system. To top up a broken multi-player, several players choose to exploit the game by using weapons and perk combinations that literally ruin the online experience. I'm not talking about bad days or clutches that everyone will run into, I'm talking about things that actually ruin the online experience as long as it continues. I know that I'm bashing on the online feature of MW2, but nonetheless, a lot of people still play it.

Overall
MW2 gives you a campaign, spec ops and multiplayer. Each one is enough to provide you explosive action for hours on end. This game would have gotten a higher score, but the only thing that led me to lower the score is the frustration of the online experience.
