MW2 takes place right after the events of COD4. Russia is in turmoil and its your job that the seats of power dont fall into the wrong hands. The story, while solid, fails to really suck you in like its big brother. The story, which is this games weakest point, feels disjointed at times and doesnt have the flow like COD4. There are some big moments in the came although they fail to blow you away like the nuke in the first game. After the campaign, which should only take you at most 6 to finish, the multiplayer is where this game shines (and where it gets almost all its score from). There are tons of different modes to play, as well as tons of guns. The ranking system is tied to the weapons, perks and special items you can you use. As you rank up you will start to get these unlocked which adds to the dynamic of the multiplayer. My favorite part to the multiplayer are the killstreaks. When you kill players in a row, you are given the ability to use these against the other team. Anything from calling in a harrier strike, a sentry gun, getting a uav to help out your team to the big daddy; a nuke to end the game. All in all the best multiplayer ive ever played. Amust have for any shooter fan.
