Cinematic and captivating. A must try if you haven't already.
If you have played MW2, you would recognize Soap, Price and Yuri. These are bad ass soldiers who are hot on the trail of Makarov.
In the meantime, you see yourself fighting full blown wars in major cities across the world. The list includes New York, London, Germany. These cities are gorgeously designed and you tend to stop and check out the view from time to time.
You see some basic elements in the campaign mode where you tend to rescue a hostage, sabotage an enemy tower or take a shot right in the head. But all of these are done so dramatically that you tend to share the emotions of these characters. The campaign mode won't last very long but offers a variety of ways to experience the world falling all around you.
The Special Ops is a good addition to this series. The survival mode is just fun if you're playing alone or with a co-op partner. You battle waves after waves of enemies who get stronger and deadlier with every wave. You earn cash for every kill and are rewarded for special moves. You spend this money to upgrade your weapons or buy new equipment. Trust me, there is nothing more pleasing that emptying shells after shells to watch a Juggernaut die, before he kills you. The more you play the maps and familiarize yourself to the weapons available, the more strategic you can get when handling you're enemies.
Online multiplayer, though not new when compared to MW2, is set in new locations. The maps are bigger and better letting you manage your strategy. The servers seem to hold up without any hick ups. I haven't felt any issues as of yet. The map design allows noobs and vets to have fun at the same engaging level. So if you're new to online gaming, this wont be a bad start.
With tons of fun and stuff to blow out and kill, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 like its predecessors is a great FPS that's totally worth the experience.
