Glad I didn't pre-order

One positive thing I will say about the new addition to the COD series is that they did an excellent job advertising this game. You would never be able to tell by the commercials and trailers that this is one of the worst additions to this series yet. I enjoy COD, I've reached the highest prestige in almost every game and have dedicated more that 200 hours to the franchise as a whole. When I say that I'm disappointed by MW3, you can consider it coming directly from a close fan. In fact, I don't see how any player of the COD games could feel any differently. The campaign fortunately isn't a problem. It's fun, has a good story, and is exciting most of the time. The Special Ops missions were always a favorite of mine and I'm glad to see that they're a big part of this game as well. My favorite feature to this game is the new waves addition that most consider a replacement to Treyarch's zombies feature. Taking on waves of soldiers, each of which have different opponents to throw in an extra curve, is a rush like no other. It almost has a Counter-Strike feel to it considering you have to purchase weapons and perks as you go through the waves and make sure that you're using your money wisely. Yes, I did say that this game is disappointing and I stand by that. The reason for this surrounds the main focus of the game, it's multiplayer feature. To me, it almost feels like they've taken away some qualities of the game. The graphics are good but this day and age that's expected for any game. For that to be the main focus, and the main reason for giving it a positive review is not how it should be. A game without good graphics is about as likely to sell as a game that doesn't work with the console it's being played on. It's expected and shouldn't be the deciding factor in a review. The gameplay is not as fun as it used to be. The movements feel almost like an old, Xbox FPS. The maps are EXTREMELY small and don't allow for much strategy short of running out in the open and hoping you get the enemy before they get you. The COD franchise never really offers much on strategy anyways but in MW2 you could still be stealthy and work as a unit. This one, you're lucky if you can get to a teammate, or anywhere for that matter, without being killed or shot at and everyone's running around like a bunch chickens with their heads cutoff. It's CHAOS. You're lucky if you even spawn around your team for that matter. The maps are so small it seems like you're just spawned into the first random spot that doesn't have anyone within 15 feet of you. The guns sound more realistic, but I'm more interested in how it plays than how the guns sound. It just feels like they took COD back to formula, didn't add anything new, and sold it with a lot of BS commercials that make you feel like every moment is intense and gratifying in it's own way. As I said in the title, I'm happy I didn't pre-order this because I will not be adding this game to my collection.

Nice try though, better luck next time.
