Are they that afraid to make a change?!
I really enjoyed the campaign; it was the first campaign on a call of duty game I've enjoyed since call of duty 4. However, I think two, 2.5 hour sittings should not be the end of a story you pay £40 for regardless the "great and epic" multiplayer experience it has to offer. Yes I played it on hardened as call of duty on veteran offers more of annoyance than a challenge. The game however is more of the same with a different skin, they do not even alter the sounds of most of the weapons something that really irritates me... the weapons on call of duty sound terrible, not a big deal to most but it irritates me. But the story to the campaign really held me, i have to say when i sat down to play the game it was while I waited for my dinner my wife cooked, that dinner got left and had to be warmed as I was constantly wanting to find out what was going to happen next. Playing all call of duty's I felt an attachment to soap and price characters iv fought as and alongside since call of duty began. This came into play in 2 or 3 do or die situations in the game which I wont ruin. I really enjoyed the action sequences in it, alot don't like these but i love them slow mos when breaching a door desperately trying to shoot 5 or 6 guys as quick as possible to rescue a hostage.
The multiplayer is for me what kills the game. If you are not a run and gun spray kind of player i don't see how you can enjoy this game. If you like to snipe or try to take a more tactical approach you will not last very long, something I've noticed happening for the last few call of duty games is the lack of maps with the ability to get in to long contact fire fights. Iv not played all that much of the multiplayer but that's because it doesn't suit my style of play, all my friends have dropped playing this instantly so that's another reason I don't like this game is if you're playing alone it sucks ! a way to get around the 6 one man army's on the other team is to play as a team with people something that the cod community lacks unless its your friends on your team. However this problem with the mp can all be fixed so there is hope yet some better maps and changing the power of some of the spray guns and it could be a call of duty to be proud of like others in the past.
in conclusion it at the moment is a letdown, but with changes to maps and weapons on the MP this could be saved to a decent game. If you was looking for an end all be all call of duty game you won't find it here.
