Nazi Zombies on your iDevice? A dream come true!

User Rating: 9 | Call of Duty: World at War - Zombies IOS
When I was browsing through the App Store and saw that there was an app for the Call of Duty: WaW Nazi Zombies mode, I almost screamed (not at the hefty $10 price tag, but I'll get to that later). I was a big fan of the original Nazi Zombies and I used to love playing it on my 360. But, as an iPod Touch app, I was expecting a watered down experience that is somewhat similar to the console and PC version. I discovered I was wrong.

Graphics: 9.5/10
Some of the best I've seen out of the iPod Touch. Textures are solid, the fire and explosions look great, and the zombie gore is still awesome.

Sound: 9.5/10
The sound is also top notch. The zombie sound effects are still there, you'll hear all of their moans, groans, and screams as they chase you. The weapons also sound nice, they're almost the exact same as the console version. There are also a few quotes from your character which I don't remember hearing in the console version. And of course, all of the sound effects are even better when you use earphones.

Gameplay:8.5/10
The controls are about as good as you can get them on an iDevice. There are 3 control schemes to fit your style of play, I personally prefer the dual stick control. The only thing missing is the ability to change postions and sprint, but there really is no need to crouch or go prone anyway and the walking speed has been slightly tweaked to be a little faster to compensate for the lack of sprinting.

Multiplayer: 9.0/10
Ah, multiplayer. The true meat of Nazi Zombies. The multiplayer is very similar to the console versions, you can have anywhere from 2-4 players over a Bluetooth or Wi-fi network. You can still play with random people like on the 360, the only problem is the lack of communication whatsoever. It might not bother some at first, but the lack of communication means that you can't plan out anything, when you want a door opened, you can't consult your teammates, you just have to do it. It might not seem like a big problem on such a small map, but when the promised Zombie Asylum map Verruckt comes out, its going to hamper the gameplay quite a bit.

Overall: 9.0/10
It's a whopping $10, but it's the authentic Nazi Zombie game you have in the console versions with dulled down graphics and minus the voice communication. Is it worth it? Definetely. I would recommend it to all Nazi Zombie fans and new players who like zombie games.
