awesome single player, schisophrenic multiplayer, sad zombies :(

User Rating: 8.5 | Call of Duty: World at War X360
Story:
WW2. end of discussion. we all know the ending.

Graphics: best in the COD series so far (pre-MW2)

Gameplay:
Basically, if you've played COD4, you'll know what COD:WaW feels like to play. upto this point, they are the most tightest controls for an FPS for me.
the LT aim and RT fire makes it extremely easy to aim and fire fast rather than have stick zoom which gets irritating.
all the weapons feel good and solid rather than halo-mattel guns.

Single Player:
the WW2 setting is Pacific for the americans and following the Soviets from Stalingrad to Berlin.
i must say that while the gameplay makes it unrealistic, the devs have made the story very realistic and show the hardships the men at the front had to endure and sometimes shows just how savage the japanese were in WW2.

Multiplayer:
when it said it was schisophrenic, i meant that it jumps between really fun and really frustrating. though it is unfair to blame this on the game itself but rather the people who play it.
some matches are really fun and fair with everyone sort of going thier own way, some matches are just filled with bunnyhopping laggers who consistantly use MP40 with juggernaught because thats the only way they can get any kills.
so bacisally its COD4 with WW2 weapons and maps.

Zombies:
this game mode makes me depressed. not because it isnt fun, it actually very entertaining.
no, what depresses me is the scum that is trying to play with other people.
when playing with 4 of your own friends, you all talk to each other and it becomes a team based game.
try randoming with other people and it becomes a different story.
these people either never talk or never stop talking, try to steal every kill, run off to far corners of the map, then cry and/or quit when they get butt-hurt by about 30 zombies, or the worst of all of them, wannabe glitchers.
these people down themselves in order to glitch out the map which makes 2 problems for the rest of the team:
a) they are downed so you have to try and get them back up, removing one person from the defense against the endless zombie horde
b) if they do successfully get out of the map, they do it right at the start of the game so all they have is a pistol and/or a Bolt action/semi auto rifle, effectively wasting a player slot for a more mature player.

Summary:
overall the game is pretty good but the players are the problem.
though we review games as games and not the players who play them so that why this gets an 8.5.
