Good.....but not near as good as the action greatness that was Call of Duty 4.

User Rating: 8 | Call of Duty: World at War PS3
Presentation: Ok, from first sight it is the same old thing as every other first person shooter. You run from point A to point B, completing different objectives. Destroy this Destroy that. That sounds familiar doesn't it? Well you bet it does. Call of Duty: World at War is not what it tries to be. It is basically Call of Duty 4 in a WWII based theme. I will mention Call of Duty 4 quite a bit.

Graphics: The character models in the battlefield are pretty good and mimic the textures from Call of Duty 4. Call of Duty 5 IS more violent then Call of Duty 4 and I will give it that. There isn't that much to say about the Graphics other than it is similar to those of Call of Duty 4 so I will give it that.

Story: Remember this? You switch between two soldiers in Call of Duty 4 throughout some of the story. Well in this it is in the whole game. You start the game out as Pvt. Miller, who is captured by the Japanese. He gets rescued and he continues his Campaign. There is also one of my favorite missions, which is where you start as a Russian Soldier called Dimitri. You appear injured as you look around at a horrible massacre as a bunch of Nazi's, killing off the rest of the live Russians. You crawl your way to Sgt. Resnov. Remember the sniping mission from Call of Duty 4? Well this is similar...in a majorly different way. I'll let you experience this first-hand.

Game play: Run, Shoot, Stab, Destroy this Tank , Use this Machine Gun Emplacement to get rid of the attacking enemies. Traditional to all of the Call of Duty games but there are more Unique enemies in Call of Duty: World at War. There are enemies hiding in Trees, Grass, Pits. There are "Banzai" attackers, which are Psychos yelling Banzai while charging at you with a Bayonet attached weapon. Now what is different from online in Call of Duty 4 is the fact that there is a New Cooperative Multiplayer mode, either competitive, or just the old fashioned way. Team up with other people and shoot the living hell out of Nazis. Online is similar to Call of Duty 4 which fails to spark the same finesse that Call of Duty 4 proved. It is basically the same thing which tires me. Kill, Level up, Custom Classes, Prestige. All recognizable to you isn't it?? The multiplayer is proved to be just a little time-spender. If you are bored. Play Call of Duty: World at War online. It also has a Zombie Nazi mode which can be played for quite some time.

Conclusion: Call of Duty: World at War presents the same thing that we were given. It has the same Gameplay mechanics, which is remotely good. It also has the same online modes, along with some other added ones. Call of Duty: World at War is just Call of Duty 4 with a different story, theme and Coop. The Coop is pretty fun and it adds a little Variety but it only stays that way for so long. To end this review off I'd like to end it off with a fair rating for this review.
