Once again Activision and Treyarch have traveled back to the final days of the struggle now known as the Second World War. An intense and immersive single player and coperative campaign give you a sense of the epic struggle that was World War Two. The addtion of the coperative campaign is a huge success as it is often more enjoyable and rewarding to have a comrade at your side. The game also includes a split-screen multiplayer component with support for up to four players and a variety of available weapon loadouts. But perhaps one of World at War's biggest strengths is the online multiplayer. This mode offers an immense ammount of replayibility and will keep you playing long after the Reichstag has been claimed for Mother Russia. Finally the introduction of the Nazi Zombies mode adds to the countless times you will play this game.

But what in particular makes this game one of the best WW2 games ever? For the answer to that question to be found we must look at the gameplay itself. Using interactive cutscenes that keep you in the action while telling a desperate tale of valor and heroism really make the gameplay something you will remeber. All the weapons feel about right, though some historical inaccuracies are present, it is fun to shooot about every weapon in the game. The ability to sprint is very useful as well as the abilities to cook grenades, use bayonets, throw back grenades, call in supports and other fine details that you may not even consider to be a key part of the game simply because it feels so natural.

Though some may not consider this to be anything new simply because the series has returned to WW2, it is easily one of the best games of the year and WW2 FPS genre.
